IBM released detailed information about the release date of Lotus Quickr 8.5.1 and its improvements. According to this, the latest version of the team collaboration software will be available for download on December 16 2010. Media with the software will be available on January 14 2011. /td>

The new Version 8.5.1 adds some useful feature:

• Support for Domino Off-Line Services. Users may create a local copy of their Team Places. Changes will be synchronized with the server, once the network connection is established again. This feature will only be available for Microsoft Windows.
• The languages Hebrew and Arabic were added, so all national languages will be supported.
• Import and export support for Microsoft Excel 2007 formatted files into the List feature (introduced in version 8.5).
• Support for lotus Connection 3 and Sametime 2.5.1

A direct upgrade to Quickr 8.5.1 will be possible from version 8.2, 8.2 and 8.5.

IBM offers free technical workshops for Customers and Business Partners in order to learn about the Quickr features. You may attend a workshop on a given time at a given IBM location. But it is also possible to attend a self-paced workshop on the internet. When registering for the self-paced workhop, you will be given access to a lab server over the internet.
